Buffalo School of Aviation
The
Buffalo School of Aviation offers a two year, Transport Canada
approved, program consisting of approximately 1800 hours of
instruction. Instruction is divided into 40% theory in a classroom
setting to provide an understanding of the principles that the
students will be exposed to, and 60% practical portion of the
course. Practical projects are designed to reinforces understanding
of theory taught throughout the course.
Some Notes of Interest
1.
Class size is limited to 16 students.
2.
The school is a brand new facility attached to the Buffalo Airways
Ltd. Hanger. A wide array of required training aids is available to
the students including a R22 and Bell 206 Helicopter and a Beech 90
King Air.
3.
Tuition fees are $1250.00/semester or $2500.00/year for each of the
two years of the program.
4.
Books required for the complete course will cost the student $600.00
to $900.00. All required texts are available for purchase at the
school.
5.
One and/ or two bedroom apartments are available in the community.
Accommodations for married students, while available, are much more
difficult to obtain. Buffalo School of Aviation neither owns nor
maintain any student dormitories. Student Financial Assistance may
be available subject to prescribed criteria for certain kinds of
accommodation.
6.
Classes (with few exceptions) run from 8:00 am to 4:00pm, Monday to
Friday.
